Martin City

Martin City, like many smaller towns in the KC area, was developed as a result of its proximity to the rail lines. Bordering on the Kansas/Missouri line, It has a rich history, which includes the town’s name change from “Tilden” to its founder’s name Edward Lowe Martin. Martin City was annexed into Kansas City in 1963. More recently, Martin City is going through a significant revitalization of the downtown area as a result of their community improvement efforts. It truly is a regional destination for many because of the well-known breweries, BBQ, and pizza. Interestingly enough, some of its greatest attractions are the landscape/nursery companies conveniently located downtown. If a small town feel is what you’re looking for, be sure to check out Martin City.
